3 nights on a beach-front campsite directly on Hahei Beach, where the entire length of this pink-tinted white sand beach is framed by ancient, red-blooming pōhutukawa trees and has lovely views of the Mercury Bay Islands off its shoreline. It's location was perfect in that we never had to move the campervan. Rather we could walk to all the hikes we did and dining options.
