Lazy Daze with Omi and Gaidus menLazy Daze with Omi and Gaidus menNormandy Farms was a great find. Great location near to a lot of good stuff, and an even rarer find, it was open all year round. Most campground in the northeast close in October so it's very difficult to find places to go to. Normandy Farms could be used as a base camp to explore the Boston area. The facilities are also amazing. Unfortunately, the indoor pool was being renovated when we were there, but we did get to spend some time in the beautiful and spacious Recreation Lodge. This was the nicest commercial campground we had ever been. However, I do still prefer the National Parks.

We really didn't spend much time at the campground. We arrived fairly late on Friday night after our visit to Old Sturbridge Village, and had a whole day of sightseeing planned for Saturday. We pretty much just hung out in the RV making dinner and playing charades. This was Herb's mom's first time overnight in the RV, so I think she was enjoying the novelty. She got a kick out of the fact that the dinner table was also her bedroom. The RV did seem to shrink though with 5 people in it instead of 4.

We did take a walk around the campground that night and it was fun to see many of the motorhomes decorated for Christmas. Most of the sites are taken by families that keep their motorhomes here on a more permanent basis, as a sort of vacation getaway, so they take the time to give their campers and sites a homier feel. We never have the time to set out a "Welcome to the Gaiduses" sign or those cute little strings of lights before it's time to move on.
